[Kara chuckles, leaning into the touch. She knew Jen had been thinking that. It was so, so obvious.]
And yes, I agree. I think it's something that the three of us should talk about, and arrange. Today isn't the right time for it. Maybe...Christmas? After we've sat down and set down ground rules.
Right. A Christmas surprise - or, well, not a literal surprise but. Oh! You know what I meant.
[ Jen reveled in the joyful expression, too, going in for a kiss since that worked better than words sometimes. though there were some other words she wanted to share in that moment. ] I love you. I don't think I say that enough.
[ has she. actually said that at all at any time that wasn't heat-of-the-moment (or right thereafter)? likely not. ]
[ she was going to go for "Christmas Miracle" next but she'll leave the Hallmark pretext aside, to save the mood. a very good mood, indeed.
Jen could just lose herself in this moment. she's laying here, stroking the hair and face of the woman she loves, looking her in the eyes and thinking about how they might approach bringing happiness to someone else that she loves. how things have been going so good for her and her mother. how life (momentarily) is calmer in the city and allowing this to happen, largely free of the usual stressful conditions. thinks were really looking up for all of them. ]
Mmmm, I wonder how long until breakfast is ready... I don't know how much longer I can lay here like this and stay peaceful.
[It's a lot to take in, but Kara's happy to bask just like she would in the sun. Laying there, hugging someone important, thinking happy, dreamy thoughts...she's got few other cares in the world. Who'd have known that memories of someone who was dead and deeply troubled, would bring about something so great?]
Mmm. I think we should check. That way Lina doesn't feel left out.
Yeah. I kind of want to see what she's working on, anyway. I'm learning a lot from her about cooking. Maybe soon enough I'll be able to cook you something I'm actually proud of that isn't super basic. [ like a fancy casserole or, if they're doing something for the holidays, a full course meal with a roast and sides and everything. ambitious? probably. ]
Oh. Before we go out there - are you wearing enough under that thing? [ she gives the zipper of the kigu a slight tug. ] It feels soft and... I kind of want to give it a try.
Sounds like a plan. [ a sexy plan. though Jen will restrain herself! as difficult as that is when more of Kara is exposed and she just has to help pull to get the fabric off of her. though at this point Kara can do the rest herself easier, so she shifts onto her back and starts to pull her sleep shorts off. ]
Do you just want these, or do you want to zip over to my room and get something new?
[ it sure would be awkward to be walked in right about now. probably. ]
I'm definitely coming around on that opinion. [ she pulls her t-shirt off and puts it aside near Kara, showing her bare back for only a moment before zipping the front up most of the way and pulling the hood over her head. now frog-ified, Jen turns back around and poses. ]
[Lina's more or less wrapping up at the stove, with everything put away except her simmering pot of rice pudding (pressure cookers are expensive) that she's stirring pretty frequently to stop it from burning. it's a really simple dish and not one she plans on screwing up, especially when there are two extremely cute girls who are also going to partake of it.]
[she's humming a semi-distinct melody as she walks between the stove and the fridge to get the strawberries out, and that's when she catches sight of—]
Oh. My gosh. [she puts the hand holding the big wooden spoon to her mouth.] You two are toad-ally adorable.
[Kara barks a laugh and floats into the kitchen, keeping her bare feet off of the cool floor. Spinning mid air, she only just manages not to double over, seeing the look on Jen's face...]
Hahaha. Oh my god, that was the worst from both of you! I've found my secret weakness...
[She flops over in mid air, dramatically hovering on her back and playing dead.]
[ Jen stares at Lina, mouth agape for the first few moments. ] Ohh my god, not you too!
[ between the two of them, and the sight of Kara floating "dead" in mid-air, Jen could only roll her eyes.
then she did a kind of forward hop with both her feet, but promptly put her hands to her face the instant she finished that. it's to cover her embarrassment.
and her laughter. ] Nope, hahahah, nope! Not doing it again!! I regret everything!

Are you going to wrap yourself up in ribbons? Or an elf costume? [ cheeky? absolutely.
serious? well..... ]

[...And...]
You think I'm going to wear anything but bows in suggestive places? Come on now.

Guess it's settled then. we're proposing this for...Christmas. One of those times.

Kissing Jen is so natural and right, but what strikes her more are those words that come.
No, she hasn't said them yet. Not...that Kara can recall outside of playfully. There's some real sincerity to them, she thinks...and...]
And I love you too, Jen.

[She's okay at it. You gotta learn when your situation is like hers.]
And...yeah? I'm wearing an undershirt and panties. Nothing Lina hasn't seen before. And I could always steal one of your shirts.
no subject
[ then she starts pulling the zipper downward. ] I want to do it.

[Kara wriggles, lowering the zipper more.]
Let's get out there then, eh?

Those are fine. No worries.
[So she'll just take those and slip them on while Jen gets the kigu on.]
no subject
Wow, this is softer than I thought... [ she sighs. ] Still warm, too.

[Kara is a walking, talking solar battery.]
and obviously. My sister has good taste.

What do you think?

[Even frogified.]
Lina's going to wonder what's keeping us though...

C'mon, hop along! Show her how excited you are.
